QuantEcon Workshop for the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science

On April 10th 2019, QuantEcon will run a one day workshop on Python for computational economics and econometrics. The workshop is aimed at beginners to Python, although some prior coding experience in other programming languages is preferable.

Topics will include an introduction to Python, scientific computing (overview), major scientific libraries in Python, and applications in economics, statistical analysis and data science.

Spaces for the workshop have now been filled.

The workshop is supported by the Research School of Economics at Australian National University and Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

  • 9:30 - 10:30: Introduction and overview
  • 10:30 - 11:00: Tea break

  • 2:00 - 2:30: Tea break
  • 2:30 - 3:30: Data analysis in python part II

Please be sure to bring your laptop to the workshop. If possible, install Anaconda Python (version 3.7).
